There stereo uses bluetooth from your mobile device., Simply use your phone and look for "STR-DH590".
The thermostats are zoned on the main level. This means there are three areas that can be set. First the main level designated as "Living Room" on the thermostat, next is the main level master as "Master" and the third is the "basement" which should remain off. The upstairs rooms are controlled by a separate unit in the upstairs hallway. The temperature shown is the temperature of the upstairs suite, not the hallway.
The refrigerator has a water and ice dispenser with 3 icons. One for water, ice and crushed ice. You simply tap the center icon to rotate between choices
The dishwasher has many different settings. The left button chooses between settings and it's best to leave it at AutoSense. The far right button starts the dishwasher. It will have a solid white light when it's ready. Simply push this button to turn it solid then close the door. Be sure to add detergent pods prior to closing the door in the detergent pocket on the door and close the small detergent door until it "clicks". If you open the main door in mid wash cycle, the start button will need to be pressed once until it turns solid again. Then close the door. The dishwasher is extremely quiet and you may not notice it running.
The rear doors on the stairs and master bedroom are special hurricane proof doors. The doors have a handle you must lift up first fully to engage the locking mechanism, then turn the little knob clockwise to lock. To unlock, turn the little knob counter clockwise and the door handle will work normally.
When the weather is calm, the cove to the north at the last rocks before the state park is the calmest water and protected by the rocks. We love to swim here (and catch crabs). You can walk out for 20 yards just waist deep and bask in the warm water. Occasionally you will see our local eagle watching you!
There is also a sand birm about 100' off shore that runs the length of the beach. When the water is shallow, it can become ankle deep.

We provide the portable gas boiler and stainless steel pot for your convenience for cooking crabs are making a soup. Here is a video to learn to light it. We exercise caution using this boiler, but it's provided many years of good crabs for the family. Oh and please use the provided paper for the dining room table if you are going to enjoy a crab feast. This helps us protect our table. No hammering on the table please!
This house is unique and designed as a very efficient home. In fact one of the most efficient homes on the eastern shore! It uses a whole house fresh air system. That means each bathroom exhausts vapors and steam automatically and replaces it into the rooms and common areas with fresh air. This air is triple filtered and has a HEPA rated filter for the incoming air from the outside. Some people say this ensures very restful sleep as the air is always recycled from the outside fresh air.
The light switches are all "smart" switches. This allows us to dim the lights in the evening hours and provide scenes like you saw when you entered the house for the first time. To make the light in any room the brightest, simply double click the top of the rocker and it will brighten the dimmer to the highest setting.
There are string lights above the firepit area. At the stairs to the firepit on the right side there is a white switch under the waterproof cover. Simply open the cover and use the switch. It may take 10 seconds for the system to respond.
